Hello,
we have grown a vine on some trellis here that is sitting in the garden bed. Any ideas how we could go about adding something so the vine can continue to grow up?
thanks!
Hi @poppylee198,
There are a couple of great ways to extend the space for your vine to climb, depending on your preferences and the weight of the vine. One of the best and most durable options is to build a standalone timber frame with posts concreted into the ground. This approach will give the vine a strong structure to grow on without being directly attached to the shed, which can be beneficial if you want to avoid any risk of damage to the shed’s panels. A timber frame can be positioned close to the shed and designed to follow its height and shape, giving the vine plenty of vertical space while still keeping it stable and secure.
Alternatively, if the vine is relatively light and won’t put too much strain on the shed, you could consider attaching mesh directly to the shed using mesh clips. This can be a simpler option, but it’s important to fix the mesh carefully. Secure it at structural points, ideally at the corners or along any supports in the shed’s frame, so you’re not puncturing through the panels, which could lead to leaks or hazards on the interior. This option is less invasive and will allow the vine to spread naturally along the shed’s surface, creating a green-covered wall effect.
Both of these methods can help the vine grow upward and fill in the shed’s wall, giving you a lush, vertical garden while protecting your shed’s structure.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
