I purchased a Ryobi 36V lawn mower last year from Bunnings - however over time, the rear wheel has become increasingly unstable and wobbly, and I am worried that the wheel itself will break. I've had a look, and I seem to be unable to tighten the nut - can anyone give me any advice on what to do please?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
you can see from the two images below how far the wheel 'wobbles'

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @KirkyG. It's terrific to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about Ryobi lawnmowers.
Are you unable to access the nut, or have you tried tightening it to no effect? If you've tightened the nut, then it sounds like the internals of the wheel might be damaged, requiring replacement. Are you able to remove the wheel to check for damage on the inside?
If the unit is still under warranty, I would suggest taking it to your nearest Bunnings store with your proof of purchase for our team to assess. If it's out of warranty, we can look at ordering you a new wheel to replace it.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

I'm pretty sure it's out of warranty - but from what you are saying should the nut come off. I tried briefly but it doesn't seem to, but if I can get a replacement wheel, then I guess it should. Are you able to take a photo to show me which nut you are referring to please?
Hi @KirkyG,
Typically, there would be a cover plate on the wheel, which, when removed, reveals a nut in the middle of the wheel that attaches it to the axle. I don't have access to a mower to take a picture of, but perhaps you might like to post a photo of your wheel so we can advise on removal.
Even if the mower is out of warranty, you could still take it into your local store to see if a Power Gardening team members could take a look at it for you.

Hi Mitchell
I've checked and it was purchased in Jan 2024. but I don't have the receipt, Ryobi advised me that Bunnings will be able to locate the reciept if I can share the bank transaction and will replace for me as Ryobi have a 4 year warranty.
We'd be more than happy to do that for you @KirkyG. If you can locate the exact transaction, then it's a very simple process to reprint your receipt. I'd suggest grabbing your bank statement, circling a few transactions that it might be, and speaking with the team at the store from which you purchased. They should be able to print off the receipt whilst you wait and then swap the mower over.
