How to fix Ryobi RSH2445S shredder that has stopped running?

Hey, my RSH2445S Shredder has stopped running.

I have cleared everything out per instruction manual, but it still wont run.

I have tried the reset button, which appears to be fully depressed, and doesnt pop up as suggested in the instruction manual.

With mains power connected

I press Start

A short engine sound can be heard

The green start light flashes rapidly for about 5 seconds.

Then the reverse light flashes for 1-2 seconds and a brief engine sound can be heard.

That’s all I get from the machine.

I can’t find any reference to diagnosis by the lights.

Re: How to fix Ryobi RSH2445S shredder that has stopped running?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @snowy456. I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing issue with your Ryobi shredder.

I've checked with the Ryobi technical team, and that series of flashing lights is not indicative of a particular issue apart from potential blockage. However, a blockage wouldn't cause the reset button to not activate correctly, and this would be more likely due to an electrical fault.

Is it still within the four-year warranty period? If so, our in-store team would be more than happy to take a look at it for you and potentially swap it over under warranty.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Mitchell

Hi @snowy456

Sorry to hear your shredder has stopped running, I can only suggest having a look at the new Shredders available at the store.

If you decide to get a new one, my best advice is to register your new shredder as soon as possible.

If you need further advice, please let us know.

Eric
