How to repair chipped bricks?
Hey Community,
I wanted to ask how I would go about repairing these 2 chipped bricks near our garage doorway?
If this can be done as a DIY option or would I need to hire a professional to fix this?
Cheers,

Re: How to repair chipped bricks?
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @DeeM91. It's great to have you join us.
Do you have replacement bricks of the same style and shape? I imagine the best course of action would be to remove these damaged bricks and replace them, but if you don't have spares then matching could be a challenge.
Next best option - do you have the chips that came out when the damage occurred?
Please let us know and we can help with next steps.
Thanks,
Jason

Re: How to repair chipped bricks?
Thank you Jason for the welcome and your reply!
I don't have any spares to replace the bricks or the chipped damaged pieces because it originally it done by a tradie working on our place and they have cleaned everything up so I could not salvage it.
Would you recommend get both bricks replaced would you say?

Re: How to repair chipped bricks?
Hello @DeeM91
Thanks for sharing your question about how to repair your chipped bricks. For this type of repair, I often suggest using Dingo Fast Set Mortar in combination with Dulux Avista Oxide 1kg Brick Red Cement. Since you are only patching a small portion, I recommend not adding too much oxide to the mix, your goal is to get that pale brick colour you currently have.
I recommend using a 1 litre plastic container to mix a bit of the mortar and oxide together while they are dry. Once you fully mixed you can then add water to it. You're after a toothpaste like consistency so that the mortar will keep its shape too much water will make it slurry. You'll also need a Craftright 150mm Pointing Trowel to spread the patch evenly.
If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.
