Hi, I've recently moved into a house that's been a bit neglected. I want to install a shed here behind a carport. What do I need to do?
Hello @baslat
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about how to install a shed.
Just a friendly reminder to check with your local council's rules and regulations regarding the installation of a shed near your car port. I'm certain that there are height and size restrictions along with fence distance requirements that must be met.
Once you 've checked with your local council, I propose having a look at the sheds available at the store. It will now be just a matter of what shed size got approved for your backyard. I strongly suggest putting in a concrete slab so that any items you put into the shed will be safe from ground moisture. I also recommend looking at the Shed Assembly Service offered at the store.
If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Hi @baslat,
@EricL has touched on it but I just wanted to re-iterate that a concrete slab or other specified base by the manufacturer is required for your shed. You'll need to level and compact the area first, and then you can look at installing your slab ready for shed assembly. Here's a helpful guide: How to pour a concrete slab.
If you go with our installation service, preparing your concrete slab beforehand is essential.
Please let us know if you have any questions.

Hi @baslat I also agree with both @EricL @ and @MitchellMc suggestions.
First point of call is decide on what size shed and exact position on a plan with dimensions. Take that to local council for their advice on what is and isn't doable.
If it's all good, but don't have the experience to build the concrete slab, I would recommend a local service as it's not a beginner level project. Then once done, then a DIY built shed is definitely doable with a couple of mates to help.
