Hi all I'm doing up my horse float , converted to a good truck. And a few other small projects on it . Any advice on how to do this fairly cheap and easy please?
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @melly2. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about converting doors.
It would be best to keep the current doors as they'd likely have heavy-duty hinges. You could clad the exterior of the with QuickBoard 300 x 9mm 2.7m Arctic White PVC VJ Wall and Ceiling Lining Boards which will give you the classic barndoor panelled effect. From there, you could add some rustic faux barndoor-like hinges and even an old-style latch.
To finish, you can add some diagonal bracing timbers across the face of the doors, which is often seen on barn doors.
By using the existing doors as a base and creating faux barn doors over them, you should be able to achieve the look you're going for.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
