Hi team
I’ve used the Dy-Mark Water-Based Epoxy Coat Garage Floor Coating Kit on the concrete floor in my back room.
I applied one coat using one kit and it cured with no trouble. However, it has been five days since applying the second coat with another kit and even though a majority of the floor has cured, part is still a bit tacky.
I’d be very grateful if anyone had any thoughts about how I can fix the tacky part of the floor.
Hi @MCMT,
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop it is fantastic to have you with us.
I find it strange that the first layer would cure fine and then the second coat is having issues. If there was a moisture issue or preparation issue, I would expect issues with the first layer as well.
Is there anything different about the part that has remained tacky to the rest of the area? Perhaps it is under an air conditioning vent or near a window?
Is it possible to get some photos of the area? Let me know if you need assistance uploading photos, I'm happy to help if required.
I note that the Dymark Epoxy Coat Instruction Manual recommends 7-10 days of drying time before heavy vehicle traffic. High humidity, which has certainly been present where I live can also affect curing time, so it may just take another few days to dry, but it is worth monitoring.
If there are still issues in a few days, I am happy to contact Dymark for their advice.
Let me know what you think.
Jacob
