123 Blocks

Do you use a 123 Block in your shop? This tool is very useful for ensuring the blade or fence on your mitre saw or bandsaw is exactly 90°. 

The 123 Block has standard dimensions of 1 x 2 x 3 inches. This version also has threaded holes to join multiple blocks together to create jigs and so the block can be attached to machinery.

My woodwork is rather rudimentary - not a lot of precision.

I just use a small square for my table saw, drop saw and band saw.

Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge about this tool. I saw it being put up against the fence and a sawblade showing if it was straight. I use a similar tool as @Noyade, the Craftright 300mm Combination Square.

Yes, I've owned 6 1-2-3 blocks for the last 20 years after having been shown them by an engineer.

I made my own ones out of steel, they were a nightmare to fabricate, but you only have to do it once.

I can't even begin to explain how helpful they've been over the years.
