Homemade chalk paint helped to revamp an old wooden table.
I bought this coffee table for just $20 on Facebook Marketplace. I wanted it to match my other outdoor furniture and I thought I would experiment and make my own chalk paint. This was my first time using chalk paint so I didn't really know what the texture was supposed to be, but it was so easy to make and gorgeous to use.
I ended up applying three coats, sanding in between each and then applying beeswax. This was the third piece of furniture that I have transformed for the back patio. Now it is all finished and looks wonderful, if I do say so myself. I love it!
My chalk paint was two parts paint and one part talcum powder.
I sanded between each coat of paint and decided to distress the edges and corners.
I think this look gives it character.
I also have a video on the transformation.
