Hello @andrewt82
Thank you for sharing your question about wall hanging the dryer on your wall. If your dryer mount is not long enough to reach the next stud, the common recommendation is to put in an external piece of timber that will span the width of the stud. If on the other hand the plaster panels of your wall have not been put up yet, this would be the ideal time to put in extra timber mounting between studs.
Would it be possible for you to post a picture of the proposed location of the dryer? This will allow our members to assess the location. We can then make recommendations on how to proceed. Some situations might require you to use a Kreg Pocket Hole Jig, which will allow you to drill at an angle and secure the timber piece in the corner of a 90-degree wall.
If you need a hand posting the pictures, please let us know.
