How to replace broken toilet seat hinge?

One of my toilet seat hinge is broken. What is the cheapest  way to fix it. I got a tradie to look at it who said the entire seat needs to be changed. I don't  see why ? Can only the hinge be replaced.?

Your toilet seat hinge looks very similar to the Kinetic Toilet Seat Fixing Kit. I propose bringing your toilet seat and hinges to the store to make sure that the hinges are the same. Should they be different you at least the opportunity to look for a compatible seat at the store.
