How to repair chipped bathroom basin?

Hi, we have recently chipped our new bathroom basin 😩 we still have most of the chipped pieces. Is there a way to repair this ourselves or should we get someone professional to do this?F44668B4-5C0C-47F8-9C6E-64D57F4634BC.jpeg

Re: repairing a chip on bathroom basin

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Janny111. It's a pleasure to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about repairing a chip in a basin.

If you still have the chip, you can glue it back in position with Clear Epoxy Glue. If there are still missing pieces or you can see crack lines, you can fill them with PC-11 56g White Epoxy Paste. Be very careful to only apply the paste within the voids and cracks and don't spread it out and onto the basin surface. The idea is that you don't want to have to sand the paste back, as you'll scratch the basin surface and make a big mess. The paste sets off-white, so you'll need to touch up the area with White Knight 500ml White Tub And Basin Paint.

Given this is a new sink and if you're looking for an un-noticeable repair, I recommend having a professional look at it. Even a professional repair won't be completely seamless though it could turn out better than a D.I.Y. job.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you!
If we have it professionally fixed, who would be the best person to do this?

Re: repairing a chip on bathroom basin

I'd suggest searching for someone specialising in chip repair of benchtops @Janny111. It's a reasonably tricky repair, so you'd need someone who routinely does this type of work.
