The Bunnings Workshop community can help with your home improvement projects.
Bunnings Workshop community members impressed the judges of this year’s search for Australia’s best D.I.Y. projects.
Inspiring kitchen, bathroom, laundry and outdoor makeovers were among the many wonderful entries received, which you can browse anytime on our project search gallery.
It was extremely difficult for the judges to choose favourites, so we want to thank and congratulate all those members who shared projects with the community. We’ve been really inspired by your work and look forward to seeing what you can tackle next around the home and garden.
Congratulations to the following winners. You can read more in the September issue of the Australian Bunnings magazine, out today. New Zealand winners have also now been announced.
Formal entrance created using single car garage
A single garage was sacrificed to create a formal front entrance and significantly enhance the street appeal of this home. Judges loved the stonework, lighting, deck, paint and planting by Workshop member Wayne, who regularly assists the community as @Nailbag.
Country and industrial-style budget kitchen renovation
Country meets industrial in this budget-priced kitchen renovation by Donna and Glenn (@Dons-Glenno). The project utilised second-hand cabinetry painted in Dulux Black Caviar with contrasting Oak laminate benchtops and a custom-made butcher's block.
Built in 1926, this laundry was impractical and lacked storage. Community members Olimpia and Charlie (@olimpiacalleja) completed a comprehensive renovation including new insulation, plasterboard, mezzanine and flat-pack cabinetry.
Coffee station using Flexi Storage floating shelves
Experienced Bunnings Workshop member Kristy (@EleventhCoastal) harnessed her passion for bold colour in this great little project. Oak Flexi Storage floating shelves and Porta Cirque lining boards painted in Dulux Herbalist make this coffee station a feature of the kitchen.
Console table upcycle coastal-style
A dated sideboard was stripped back to natural timber before a light paint wash and stain and varnish was applied. Sara (@TaylerMayd) loves upcycling furniture and was so happy with the result of this makeover.
Built-in cabinetry and shelving makeover
A dated and cluttered shelving area was transformed using paint and the addition of a VidaXL cabinet. Community member Ellen (@Ebd267) even painted the mirrored back of the shelving in Taubmans Dark Green Velvet after thorough research of what primer to use.
Community garden growing vegetables
Bunnings Workshop member Don (@IDIG) has been sharing the progress of his retirement village garden with our community for several years. The space is filled with raised garden beds and is absolutely flourishing, providing residents with wonderful fresh produce such as beans, lettuce, carrots, capsicum and seasonal herbs.
Congratulations to all Bunnings Workshop members who submitted a project. We know it can be a little intimidating to share your handiwork with others, but this is a very encouraging and supportive community. You should be very proud of what you have achieved and we thank you for helping to inspire other members to take on new D.I.Y. projects.
Please don’t hesitate to hit the Share a project button any time you have a new project. We’re looking forward to seeing what you can achieve around your home and garden in the year ahead.
We’re also here if you ever need any advice or support along the way. Just ask!
Thanks again to project search supporters Dulux, Scotch Painter’s Tape, Ozito and Monarch.
