Re: stained wooden floor

Hi @jtnguyen

If  that is a recent water  stain as it still looks wet try  airing it out lots for starters.

If that board is laminat do you have any spare boards you can use.

Or a  very light 240gr sanding even on laminate may lighten the shading.

On a solid  timber  floor just get out the sander and you will fix it in no time  reseal the timber next due sealing  time.

Try a little bleach might lighten the colour  small test area  to start with on a  cloth

Re: stained wooden floor

Hi @jtnguyen,

A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community and thank you for your question.

The first thing we'll have to do is determine what the flooring is. It could be timber, but I think it is more likely it is vinyl or laminate.

If you tap your knuckles on it, do you get a timber sound? Does the surface feel like timber, or does it feel soft and manmade?

If it feels like timber, it could be engineered timber floorboards. If it is soft and feels almost plasticky, it is most likely vinyl or laminate floorboards.

Once you've worked out what the flooring is, @Jewelleryrescue's solutions are more or less what I would advise.

I suspect it is vinyl or laminate, so if you have replacement boards, this is your best option. If you have replacements, let me know and I can offer guidance on replacing them.

If you don't have a replacement, use light abrasives starting with a scourer, followed by steel wool to try and lighten the stain as best you can without damaging the surface.

If this doesn't prove useful, try bleaching the stain. Start with a very small section to test the results before committing to a broader area.

Let me know what you think and if you have further questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Jacob
