handy hints to stop old timber windows rattling

Hi- have old timber windows that get a real rattle up in the winds. Am wondering if there is any less tacky way of stopping the rattle than wedging in bits of cardboard. 📦

Re: handy hints to stop old timber windows rattling

Hello @toby8

There quite a number of weather seal strips that can take the place of your cardboard filler. For example, the Moroday 6 x 7mm x 5m Black MWS8 Self-Adhesive Brush Seal is a brush type seal that does not occupy a lot of space and is perfect as a space filler, the Moroday Grey Self Adhesive Weather Seal is a multipurpose sealer that is a closed polymer cell that can take the shape of any gap. I suggest visiting your local store and having a look at the weather seals that are in stock and see which one suits your needs.

My best advice is to make sure that the timber surface is clean and dust free before you stick the weather seal on its surface.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Eric
