Hi,
I’ve been laying 5mm hybrid flooring on top of tiles and am stopping where the laundry starts.
Just wondering what kind of edging I should be using and how to glue it to the tiles.
The flooring is basically floating on top of the tiles, has a square corner and ends in the middle of the hallway.
See picture for illustrative purposes.
Any tips greatly appreciated.

Hello @pas
I suggest using Roberts 1.65m Silver Senior Ramp Floating Floor Trim in combination with Roberts Ramp And Cover Trim Plug - 10 Pack. One side of the trim is higher than the other which makes it perfect for your flooring to tile transition. You'll need to drill into the tile, I suggest using Kango 4 Piece Natural Stone and Tile Drill Bit Set. Please make sure to spray the tile with water to prevent overheating the tip and cracking the tile. Please remember to change drill tips when you start to drill into concrete.
Once you have enough holes on the tiles the transition piece can be pushed and locked into place.

Hi Eric,
That’s very helpful. I was hoping not to drill, but I assume a construction adhesive isn’t strong enough to hold?
Thanks for your help!
Pascal
Hello @pas
Yes, due to the shiny finish of the tile, any adhesive will simply chip or peel off the surface. It needs to be drilled in. I suggest taking your time and making sure that gap between holes is adequate. My best advice, please make sure to drill deep enough so that the strip does not get stuck halfway down.
If you need further assistance, please let me know.
Eric
Thanks Eric! Appreciate your help. I will let you know.
