Hi, I can't afford to have someone in to paint my house. I thought I would do it. I suffer with Arthritis and I'm in my mid seventies.
I'm looking at buying either the Ozito airless paint sprayer or the Wagner airless paint sprayer. I have read that with the Wagner I could buy a tool that means I don't have to climb ladders. I'm more concerned about the ceilings than anything else in the house.
Hi,
when you are spraying a house with airless spray gun, like the Wagner model etc., I imagine you need to mask around areas like windows and eaves?
what is the most effective way of masking these areas or stopping the overspray going onto a different colour part of the house?
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Flux. It's sensational to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about masking surfaces.
When spraying, it's best to use masking film, which is a masking tape with a plastic sheet already attached. You add it around your windows and surfaces and then tape it out onto the surrounding walls. This stops paint from drifting into areas you do not want to paint. Also, remember to use drop sheets, as you'll find the paint drift can land on the floor.
In some instances, such as painting a single window frame, a brush or roller might be a better choice than masking the surrounding area.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
