Hi I'm in Victoria and faced with problem with massive headache.
I had dodge builder who removed two of load bearing wall and built a wall. He promised that he will get a building permit and just realized he did not get the permit due to the cost of it.( which I already paid for) In this case what should I do ? I already spoke to DBDRV but they can't do anything as he is not answering.
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Kevinjeong. It's terrific to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about load-bearing walls.
If there are no avenues left to pursue with your builder, then I suggest the next thing would be to employ the services of another builder to check over the work that has been done. If the work done is up to code, then you would speak with your local council to determine the next steps. This might be as simple as submitting an application and having an inspector sign the work off. If the job isn't to code, you would need remediation work to get it passed.
The priority is to ensure the work is safe and you're not risking the well-being of those in the dwelling. You'll need to employ the services of a qualified professional to assess the situation.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
