what is the best front door for a 1960s home?
Hi @NanaBeth,
Thank you for your question about a new door for your 1960s home.
As your question is opinion-based, I can offer suggestions and direction, not a definitive answer.
Some questions you might like to ask yourself:
There are a number of elements to a door, and their selection comes down to personal preference.
Some places you could start are the Corinthian Doors Catalogue and the Hume Doors Catalogue. Make sure to look at the entrance door sections, as the internal construction of these doors allows them to be used in this situation.
You could also check out Front entrance door renovation from @Dave-1 and 9 ways to update your front door for some inspiration.
Once you've chosen your door, you might also like to have a look at our Door Installation service, which can be organised through your local Bunnings Special Orders desk.
Allow me to tag some of our helpful members for their thoughts, @Noyade, @RenoRach, @mich1972.
Let me know if you have any further questions.

Evening @NanaBeth
Thats a nice door that you have already But as @JacobZ points out its personal preference really. Id add to the things you could do to narrow what you want down to something that suits your place.
Start an image board (I cant think of the right name atm lol)
Collect images from magazines, things you see online, even houses you walk past (just dont get caught taking stalkerish pics lol)
Do you want the door to be secure (cant break in by breaking glass) or let in light. I like the solid door with long verticle line sof glass that you cant step through but thats me again.
You could troll through these pages as there are so many front of houses from different era' s you may find something that nails it for you. Which brings me to a point I should have started with Welcome to the Bunnings community pages Its a great place for ideas and following through to new projects!
