Is this a galvanised or zinc roof? Bondall 1L Ranex Rustbuster Rust Converter is not suitable for galvanised surfaces.

It's advised that the convertor be applied only to the rusted areas and not the surrounding surface. It's also worth bearing in mind that it will convert the rust, but it will not prevent it from reoccurring. You'd need to coat the surface with an oil-based primer to prevent reoccurrence.

Is there surface rust over the entire surface? If so, one litre will cover around five square meters, but it really depends on how heavy-handed you are with the application.
