Are the Smart dimmers & Smart switches troublemaker for lights, GPO, fans over the period.
even brands like Clipsal, Mercator have bad reviews.
I thought Smart switches are handy for a two storey especially with kids who leave it ON 😊
Whats your opinion whether to go for smart or normal from maintenance point of view.

Hi @Samara1,
Installing smart switches can indeed be convenient, especially in a two-story home with kids who tend to leave lights on. They offer remote control and automation benefits, allowing you to manage your lights and fans effortlessly. However, it's essential to consider factors like the quality of your Wi-Fi connection, as poor connectivity can lead to issues with smart switches. While traditional switches require less maintenance and are straightforward to use, smart switches offer advanced features that may be worth the occasional troubleshooting effort if you value convenience and automation.

Hi @Samara1,
The Deta Touch Activated LED Dimmer will allow you to manually turn your lights ON/OFF and adjust the brightness with the dimmer function; you can then control those functions through the app too.

Thanks Miatchell. sorry the customer reviews does not looks good for the product Deta Touch Activated LED Dimmer
do you have any other product with good reviews please
Hi @Samara1,
Thank you for your follow up question.
This product has an internal cooling fan that creates noise which can be audible to some people. If this is something you are concerned about, you could choose a regular dimmer switch such as DETA 200W Universal Electronic Dimmer With X6 Series Wall Switch.
As this is a mechanical switch, there is no need for cooling, so it will not create any noise.
Please get in touch if you have further questions.

Hi @Samara1,
I'm sorry I am not familiar with their products. Perhaps other community members might like to share their thoughts.

You may want to add a Tuya-based Motion sensor too
If there isn't any motion, turn off the lights!
