Hi guys,
I have some MDF panels that were originally painted with spray cans..
The paint looks very patchy and I would like to paint over them..
They are large vertical parabolic panels and cannot be moved..
What would be the best type of paint to use to cover this.?
Hi @Prof,
How long did the spraypaint last? Would it be unreasonable to re-paint with the same product?
The best type of paint to cover existing spray paint would be an equivalent product. If you were to use a primer like Taubmans 3 In 1 Interior And Exterior Primer Undercoat Sealer White Paint you could then switch and use a paintable product instead of a spray product.

Hi Mitchell,
The spray paint has been done for some time now and it just looks very patchy..
Being matt black paint hasn't helped it either..
The Taubmans 3 in 1 Interior and Exterior Primer Undercoat Sealer sounds like the way to go..
So if I use that, can I just use a water based paint over the top ?
Hi @Prof,
You certainly can use water-based paint over the top. Depending on what these parabolic panels are I would recommend Dulux Aquanamel as it is harder wearing than wall paint.

The parabolic panels are in my home theatre, so standard interior paint should suffice..
