We have this weird space between our two stairwells and it is the first thing you see when you come in the front door. It is currently being painted so please ignore the ladder. We currently have shoe storage cupboard at the rear of the space, however we are happy to move this. How would you use or style this space so it is inviting when you walk into the house?
Hello @new_to_this
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about styling the space between your staircases.
You could turn it into a reading nook by building a small bookcase at the very end that swings open so that you still have access to your shoe rack. Another option is to build a picture wall door. This is a door that's not so tall but is tall enough to hide the shoe rack at the back. The picture frames will need to be solidly installed to prevent them from falling when the door is swung open. One more thing you try is to create a small plant nursery with a mini gazebo structure built in place.
Let me call on our experienced members @RenoRach, @redbournreno and @lifestylebymari for their recommendations.
