Hi I bought a 3 metre extension hose for my gas heater. I unscrewed the old hose off easily but I can't manage to screw on the new hose. The fitting seems the tiniest bit too small. The new hose is silver.

Hello @JulesPerth
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's marvellous to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your gas extension.
I'm sorry to hear that the gas hose won't fit, just to be on the safe side, I suggest not forcing the fitting onto your heater. It's possible that there might be different extension hose for heaters. I recommend bringing your heater along with the hose back to the store. I suggest speaking to the BBQ specialist at the store and asking them about the hose and why it won't fit into your heater.
If you need further assistance, please let me know.
Eric
Morning @JulesPerth
That is the same heater we purchased last year.
We bought our 3 metre hose form Barbecues Galore.
Perfect fit.
No issues.
I can provide photos and further information if you wish.
Cheers.
The biggest issue was the heater itself.
This is what it looked like one week after we purchased it.
Hi @JulesPerth,
These hoses are designed for BBQs running a natural gas connection. They are not designed for internal heaters. Due to this, you'll likely find the variant in threads. The thread on our hose is 5/8" UNF (3/8" SAE). I recommend contacting the heater manufacturer to discuss what hoses would suit their appliance and purchase one designed for heaters, not BBQs.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Mitchell
Thank you very much for the explanation 👍
Hey Mitch @MitchellMc
I posted that hose photo from the store - on my mobile. Huge pixels. Did you resize it or does it automatically resize?
Thanks.
The manager did inform me (yes, I'm so dedicated to this site I drove there) that not all their stores stock this.
At the time I rang all the obvious gas/supplier/stores in town with no luck.
There was a switch issue with my heater. They replaced everything inside - I kid you not - before it was finally repaired.
All good now @JulesPerth
😁
No re-sizing from me @Noyade.
I'm not finding these heater hoses on our system, so they might have been a Special Order.
Mitchell
Not Bunnings @MitchellMc
The "store" I'm referring to and visited this morning was - Barbeques Galore - despite their title they do sell natural gas heaters and their associated hoses. Just trying to point @JulesPerth in the direction of possibly obtaining one.
