How to take apart Ozito airbrush?

Hi all. I purchased the Ozito airbrush and mini compressor kit (Mack 300) and I can't undo the air cap body and the valve body parts (see pic). The spanner supplied is a square shape (see other pic) while the parts are round?? Any suggestions?? And why is there a square spanner when all parts are round? 🤷

Re: How to take apart Ozito airbrush??

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Jasonho. It's to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about .

It seems like the grooved section on the nozzle protector is likely designed to allow for finger tightening and removal, though I understand that this might not be easy to do. If that doesn’t work, you may need to use pliers to grip and loosen the parts. The flat-sided spanner provided doesn’t seem to be the ideal tool for removing the nozzle protector, given the protector doesn't have flat sides.

To clarify the use of the spanner, I’ve sent an email to Ozito's technical support team asking about its intended purpose. I've also CC'd you in on the email, so they'll reply to you directly with further guidance.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks Mitchell. I'll try your suggestion. Re the spanner, there is nothing I can see it being useful for 🤷

I look forward to hearing from Ozito. Thanks again 👍

Re: How to take apart Ozito airbrush??

And, I presume the spanner doesn't lock in at all to the grooves on the protector, @Jasonho? Is there a nut on the hose that connects the compressor to the airbrush?

Re: How to take apart Ozito airbrush??

No, it doesn't. See pic. The hose also has round connections. The only nuts are on the compressor, and the spanner fits none of them.

Re: How to take apart Ozito airbrush??

Very peculiar @Jasonho

You most often see that type of knurled grip added to an object designed to be hand-undone. If this is the first time you've undone the nozzle, then popping on a pair of washing-up gloves would help with grip. It might just be locked on a bit hard from the manufacturer.

Hopefully, Ozito will get back to us with some information.
