How do you set up ladders or working nplatforms on staircase or difficult slope area for painting inside the house?
Hi @Honest52,
Thank you for your question.
Is it possible to get some photos of the difficult area where you want to set up ladders or working platforms? This will help our members come up with a solution that works for your specific circumstances.
The main thing with ladder safety, similar to how houses are constructed, is that the load being supported is safely and evenly transferred down and into the support below. With ladders, this means that the base is flat and preferably level.
In situations where a ladder can't be set up safely tools like, scaffolds and Aluminium Planks & Trestles are often used as they can be set up over uneven surfaces so that the load is evenly transferred into the support beneath.
There are also options for adjustable ladders that can be levelled such as this Little Giant 5 - 9 Step Multi-Purpose Leveller Ladder, which is a good option on stairs.
Regardless of the solution you use, it is paramount that you consider your safety before getting stuck in. Level whatever work platform you are using, have someone foot your ladder and don't work alone. Falls from height can cause great harm and even be fatal, so it is not worth taking any adverse risks.
It may be worth considering hiring a professional painter to do the difficult areas as they will have the knowledge, tools and skills to safely carry out the work.
If you upload some images of the area, I'd be happy to assist further. Let me know if you need a hand with this.
