How to replace wood wall panelling

I have pulled up the carpet in my bedroom with the intention of putting hybrid flooring down. I have just pulled off the floor trim and on the wall adjoining the bathroom there is mould. I assume I need to replace a small section of subfloor and some of the wall. My main question is how do I safely take out a section of the wall and replace, without the whole wall collapsing?

Re: How to replace wood wall panelling

Hello @indiaww

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us and thanks for sharing your question about your wood wall panelling.

It appears that you have progressive moisture damage on your timber stud wall. I propose engaging the services of a registered builder to replace the timber frame for you, it is an involved process that will require that part of your wall to be disassembled, and your framing repaired. This is on the condition that it is just the frame that needs fixing. There is the possibility of a fall on effect if your waterproofing membrane in your bathroom has failed, it could be an indication that a larger portion of your flooring could be damaged. Your builder will give you a thorough report once they've done the inspection.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Eric
