Re: repair garage old gutters

Hi @Honest52,

Your material list looks quite comprehensive, but there are a few additional items you may need. Masonry fixings will be required to secure the downpipe brackets, and pop rivets and gutter silicone sealant will help ensure a watertight join of the pop outlet. Additionally, you might want to check if you have enough brackets, as spacing them every 900mm to 1200mm is generally recommended to provide adequate support.

When installing the new gutter, make sure it has a slight fall towards the downpipe to allow proper drainage. It’s also important to check that the fascia is in good condition before attaching the new gutter. If the old one was rusted, moisture damage to the fascia could be a concern.

Keep in mind that in many areas, installing guttering and especially connecting a new downpipe to the stormwater system is considered plumbing work that requires a licensed plumber. It’s best to check the regulations in your area before proceeding to ensure compliance.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Mitchell
