Fluorescent light tubes haven't been changed for years. One failed so I replaced it with a fluoro LED tube. Changed the starter first. Tube doesn't light up. Then circuit tripped. Maybe starter not in properly because very hard to see or feel. Or maybe the fitting can't accept LED? How would I diagnose?
Hello @Rdonair
In this particular situation, I suggest engaging the services of a registered electrician. When the circuit breaker trips it is often an indicator there is something electrically wrong with the unit. I don't recommend doing any electrical repairs as it is supposed to be done by an electrician.
Here is a handy guide: DIY electrical and why you should never attempt it by @CSParnell.
Once you've engaged the services of an electrician, you can ask them for a quote on how much it will cost to upgrade your light to LED.
