Hi there, I got one water hose connector cracked, the black water hose is approximately 18mm wide and seems to be the main water hose into the house.
However I can not find one connector in Bunnings that has the size 18mm*1/2", I bought one Poly-Fit 16mm x 1/2" Brass Push Fit Fixed Female Swivel, but the black water hose is very tough and cant fit.
I also checked this page:https://www.bunnings.co.nz/search/products?q=Marley%20Philmac&sort=BoostOrder&page=1
Again there is no 18mm product.
Wondering which product shall I buy?
Hi there,
What you have there is more than likely 19mm MDPE pipe (aka Alkathene).
That white/brass fitting looks like an adapter for Hepworth pipe.
You really need the correct MDPE fitting to make this work.
Hello @kaminokyoku
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. Thank you so much for joining us and sharing your question about replacing your cracked water hose connector.
Is your fitting connected directly to the water meter or is it connected to another pipe? I suggest testing the Marley Philmac 20mm x 3⁄4” 3G Metric™ Female Connector or the Marley Philmac 20mm x 1⁄2” 3G Metric™ Female Connector. These compression fittings could possibly work with your pipe. I recommend cutting a small piece of your pipe and test it on the Marley-Philmac Fittings and see which one fits best. Ask your local store's plumbing specialist to help you identify the fitting that will work for you.
However, if none of them fit, I suggest engaging the services of your local plumber to help you identify the fitting that will work for your pipe. Due to to the age of the pipe the fitting might have to be specially ordered at the store's special orders desk.
If you need further advice or information, please let us know.

Many thanks Mike, that make sense!
I guess Bunnings doesn't sell MDPE fitting I need?
Many thanks Eric!
Looks like the black hose is 19mm MDPE pipe, thanks to MikeTNZ
I will still give https://www.bunnings.co.nz/marley-philmac-20mm-x-1-2-3g-metric-female-connector_p0159822 a try and update if it works!
Hi @kaminokyoku
I've not seen an 18mm or 19mm fitting in the Marley_Philmac range. But I still encourage you to test the fittings I suggested as the interior connectors are compression fittings. If you do happen to find the correct fitting, please make sure to post an update. I'm sure the information you share will be very useful to our members who are in the same situation.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Hi Eric,
Just want to update, I purchased https://www.bunnings.co.nz/marley-philmac-20mm-x-1-2-3g-metric-female-connector_p0159822, it's not a perfect match, there is some gap (several millimetres), but there is no leak after using some Thread Seal Tapes
Many thanks again!
