how to repair loose door knob on internal door - there are no visible screws, slots to undo
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @mac2. It's terrific to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about repairing loose door knobs.
It sounds like the issue with your loose door knob is likely due to the bolts that join the hardware on either side of the door becoming loose. To fix this, you’ll need to remove the knobs to access these bolts. Typically, the flat cover plate on the door can be turned anti-clockwise to release the knob.
If you’re finding it difficult to get a grip on the flat plate, try using kitchen washing-up gloves. They can give you a better grip and make it easier to push against the plate while turning it anti-clockwise. Once you’ve removed the knobs, you should be able to tighten the bolts on either side of the door to secure the handles properly.
If you continue to have issues, pop a couple of pictures up so our members have a better idea of what you're working with. Let me know if you need a hand uploading images.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
