I recently removed a pressure mounted baby gate from a wall, and a piece of paint got stuck on the rubber mount and came off.
What would be the best way to repair this? Could I just fill it with some spakfilla and paint over it? The hole is getting slightly bigger as my daughter finally noticed it and loves picking at it 😂.
Hi @unawarek,
As someone with an almost three-year-old daughter, I can relate. She too has now noticed any areas of paint that can be picked off.
As you've mentioned, I'd suggest filling with Spakfilla and tapering/blending the hard edges of the chipped area into the surrounding wall. After sanding it smooth to the touch, prime the area with British Paints 100ml White Prep 4 In 1 Water Based Primer Sealer Undercoat before top coating with your choice of paints.
Here's a step-by-step guide which you should find useful: How to patch plaster.
