Hi Team
I just noticed there's open cracks on the mortar of the brick wall.
Is this a big issue? Can i fix myself?
If yes, what do i need?
I also have this leftover mortarfil over 1 year now.
Thanks Thierry
Hi @Thierry,
I don't believe anyone can answer whether this is a big deal from your photo. You'd need the foundation of your house inspected by a qualified professional to know for certain. Hairline cracks would be considered a relatively common occurrence in brick dwellings. Your cracks are a little more substantial than that and indicate that there has been some rather significant movement.
I'd err on the side of caution and recommend you get this inspected. If the wall's integrity is fine, you'll be able to fill the gaps yourself with the product you have. However, the filler will do nothing for the structural integrity; it just purely fills the exposed gaps.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
