Hi
Could you please advise on how to repair this kitchen window?
It needs both paint touch-ups and filling in some holes.
I'd appreciate it if you could suggest the appropriate products for each step of the process.
Cheers
Hi @Mahi86,
Thank you for your question and welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.
I'd suggest you grab the following products or similar alternatives:
The first step is to use the paint scraper to remove any flaky paint. There is no need to remove all the paint, but the flaking stuff is not adhered to the surface beneath, so it will have to go.
Step two is to sand the whole surface with the 120 grit sandpaper. The aim is to remove any hard edges where the flaking paint has been removed and to smooth and prepare the surface to accept an undercoat.
Step three is to use the Builders Bog to fill any of the screw holes. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for use and apply it using the paint scraper. Once it has dried, sand it smooth with the 120-grit sandpaper.
Now, tape off the window frame and anywhere you do not want to get paint and place your drop sheet on the floor.
Brush off any dust or remaining dirt on the window frame and apply a coat of the Dulux 1Step Prep Primer, Sealer & Undercoat with the roller and paint brush.
Once the primer has dried, apply 1-2 coats of your paint, allowing each coat to dry before the next.
Finally, remove the tape and clean up before stepping back and admiring your handiwork.
