How to remove safety screws from windows?
What can I use to remove the screws that prevent windows opening too far?
Moved into a two year old property recently and the upstairs windows gave headless screws preventing my opening the windows more than an inch or two. I’ve been told this is a safety feature but it severely reduces air flow upstairs. How can I remove them?

Re: How to remove safety screws from windiws
Hi @tgraham,
A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.
This is a security screw that is driven with what's called a trilobular driver bit. They aren't particularly common.
This Stanley 31 Piece Bit Set is the only stocked line that I can find which includes one, but I can't say for certain whether it will fit your screw or not.
I'd suggest grabbing this set and if you find the trilobular bit doesn't work, you can always return it with your receipt.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
Jacob

Re: How to remove safety screws from windiws
Hi @tgraham
If you have time on your hands and a few unloved screwdrivers lying about - you can grind and file some shapes to fit security screws.
Apart from the kit Jacob mentioned - try Jaycar.
Cheers.

Outside my abilities I’m afraid but thankfully the bit set had just the shape.
