Hi,
We got some crickets in the attic. I've checked the attic, and it seems to be dry. What is the best way to get rid of them?
Thanks for the help.
Hello @StefanAUS
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's wonderful to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about removing crickets from your attic.
One way to trap crickets is to use a traditional trap using a large flat saucer with water and molasses. Please note that using too much water reduces its effectivity. Another way to drive them out is to use thyme, sage, rosemary, peppermint, lemon, and cinnamon. By mixing any of the essential oils of these plants with water and then spraying an area suspected of harbouring crickets, you can drive them away.
Please note that if you or an of your family members are allergic to these essential oils, please do not use them.
If you prefer a chemical solution, I suggest engaging the services of a professional pest control person. The standard Pyrethrum sprays used on plants are for outdoor use only and are not pet friendly. Please do not use these sprays indoors.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
