Wife and I just had some old evaporative cooling vents plastered over, and now we are embarking on the task of painting the ceilings.
Just wondering what the best paint to use for this would be? Would any ceiling white work? Also, can the same paint be used for the architraves, or should we use a different one?
Hi @Davofit,
Thank you for your question about painting your ceiling.
Ceiling paint is designed to be thicker than standard paint so that it won't drip. It is also a flat or matte finish, so it minimises reflection and therefore reduces the appearance of surface imperfections. Any quality ceiling paint will be fine, with Dulux Ceiling White Paint and Taubmans Ceiling Brilliant White being good options.
Typically, you wouldn't use ceiling paint for architraves, but this doesn't mean you can't, there are just better options. They are usually painted with gloss or semi-gloss enamel paint. The gloss helps contrast with the walls and ceiling, emphasizing the trim for a polished look. This Dulux Aquanamel Semi Gloss Enamel Paint or this Taubmans Semi Gloss Ultimate Enamel are good options for your architraves.
