How to match piece of timber?

  hi,

I bought this product a month, its basically a long piece of wood which I've been using for picture framing. It was recommended to me by a staff member, he said it was a softer wood than pine, I think. I don't know what it's called and I couldn't find it in store when I looked for again. The staff I approached couldn't help me and I don't have the receipt. Could someone please tell me what it is?

Re: what is this called and is it in stock

Hi @monica133,

Can you take a photo of the end showing us a cross section of the timber?

Can you also advise which store you purchased this from?

Our timber suppliers are slightly different from state to state and between Australia and New Zealand, so knowing where it was purchased will help me narrow it down.

It looks a lot like this Porta 20 x 8mm 2.4m Bullnose Cover Strap Tasmanian Oak to me.

Do those measurements match up? Is it 20mm tall and 8mm thick?

Let me know what you think.

Jacob
