Hello Friends,
is there any better way to do rectangular hole in my wooden legs.
as of no
w i am first doing a circular hole and then making it rectangular.
Hi @vkas,
Thank you for your question and welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you join us.
Unfortunately, this is the best method for cutting square or rectangular holes (mortises) into timber.
You can use a multitool to make plunge cuts into the timber, but you'll find that it actually takes longer and is more troublesome than the method you're already using.
My best suggestion is to trace the internal perimeter of your mortise with your drill holes, essentially "connecting the dots". Once the perimeter is traced, you can knock out the timber from the centre and use a nice sharp chisel to clean everything up.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
Jacob
