I am currently in Broome and my house here is overrun by small cockroaches. I have cleaned the place to the best of my ability and gotten rid of the food causing them. I am now getting them in my room and on my clothing which I wish to take back to Perth free of cockroaches. Do you have any advice?

It sounds like you've got a decent-sized infestation there. I'd recommend using insect control bombs in all rooms of the house. This will ensure the insecticide fog reaches all the areas where the cockroaches could be hiding. Once you have done this treatment, I recommend placing cockroach bait stations under fridges, in cupboards and cabinets. It might also be worth spraying any areas where they can get into the house. Pay special attention to door/window frames and the pipework under your sink.
Please let me know if you need further information or assistance.

Hello @andrea2
I was going to suggest using a roach bomb but after asking my specialist I think you need a plan of attack.
- roaches are attracted to high moisture areas. Do you have any plumbing leaks or is the house near a retaining wall that weeps? That needs to be fixed first.
- Is there a point in the house where most of them come out? Once you identify this use roach gel bait as it is more effective as they carry the poison back to the best. Set up around the house.
- use poison barrier spray on cracks and splits where they often travel and hide.
- it is a long term event and will not immediately kill them. You may need a professional pest controller if you wish for immediate results.

I had a roach problem with the house I bought..Not quite as bad as yours but quite a few small roaches in the Kitchen area..
I bought one of those automatic timed sprayer units..the one you can set how often it gives a burst of spray..
I put it on over night and after several nights..NO MORE COCKROACHES..
It's a kit put out by Mortein for outdoor use which I bought from the local Supermarket..
Might be worth a try...
