Hi All I replaced by flyscreen on my external security door it's an Austral lock , when I removed the handle to fit the new flyscreen I did not lock it and now something is not quite right because having difficulty locking it and the nib uses to.quickly lock the door from inside will not engage at all . I have taken the handle off and remove the cylinder, brought back to the lock position then reassemble but it's still not working, what Am I missing ?

Re: security screen door lock
Hi @Raz72,
Thank you for your question about troubleshooting an issue with your door lock.
I suspect the answer is surprisingly simple.
You can see where the red arrows are there is a slight shadow line behind the latch and where the green circles, which correspond with the location of the screws, there is no gap at all.
I suspect the screws have been overtightened causing the lock to bind up and not function as intended.
Try loosening the mounting screws by a half-turn and see if this fixes the issue. If it doesn't, loosen them by another half-turn and test.
If this doesn't fix the issue, let me know and I will help further.

Re: security screen door lock
Hi @Raz72,
Just to follow up after some further investigation, the issue could also be related to Step 5 in the Installation Instructions for your lock.
Try removing the cylinder and aligning the cam following the above instructions before installing the cylinder screw.
Let me know how you go.
