Hi all,
I was hoping to get advice on how to fix/replace this dog door.
What tools do I need to remove and what product do I buy to replace it? Is it just a matter of replacing the plastic flap?
Thanks heaps
Hello @fifix
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your pet door.
Is there any chance that the current door can be repaired? I only ask as most of the pet doors available are for the main doors and not for the security doors.
Here is a short list of the doors that came close to the size you were after:
If the existing pet door can be refurbished, please post a closer photo of the hinge set and how big the actual dog flap is. I'll be more than happy to recommend alternative parts to repair the old pet door.
If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Hi @fifix
I think @EricL is right that dog flap looks like a custom build and quite sturdy except for the plastic flap. So won't be easy replaceable
I would drill out the rivets holding the old plastic flap and cut a new plastic flap out of translucent carpet protector as it is a thicker plastic but soft and flexable and should last a good while.
But if a more ridge plastic is needed (I note the dog ear clips at the sides for a stiffer door) PVC Sheet
Actually, it looks like the rivets are a repair job.
The actual solution is to fit the door panel up into that metal hinge section. But how to release the old plastic out of there?
Or pop rivet the new solid panel to the old section of plastic still remaining like they tried to do with the thinner plastic.
I think it fixable you will need a pop riveter and take some old rivets to get a similar type.
