Hello first time user of this forum. We havr 20 of these locks in our house and we have lost the key. Is there a standard key for these Whitco locks? Thank you for your help. Sally.
Hi @SallyLark
There are standard key blanks . But you will need those blanks to be cut to suit your windows i dont think they have a serial no you can quote and have a new one remade from whitco
So thats a job for a locksmith they can re make a key for you as well re make /key all the windows to the same key saves alot of fidding.
I estimate $30 per window if they arnt allready thesame key operated.
thanks for the info. I'll try a locksmith; I wasn't sure they did window locks.
Hello @SallyLark
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's wonderful to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about getting a key for your Whitco window lock.
It's great that you've received excellent advice from @Jewelleryrescue. In this instance it's definitely a job for a locksmith. Once they figure out the combination for one of the windows hopefully the keys are all the same for the rest of the house.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Sadly Eric,
the locksmith advised he cannot make keys for these locks. So, I am back at square one. The locksmith's advice was that all the fittings will need to be replaced. I have 20. I wonder if Whitco supply replacement barrels for old locks.
thanks.
Hi @SallyLark,
You might like to get a second opinion from another locksmith on that one. As far as Whitco is aware, creating a key for that lock should be entirely possible as there's nothing unusual about them. The only time you should really face an issue with having a key created would be with a specialised lock, which this isn't.
Regarding replacement barrels, unfortunately, Whitco does not supply them.
Mitchell
thanks Mitchell. I'll try another locksmith.
