The Bunnings Workshop community can help with your home improvement projects.
Many thanks for joining the Bunnings Workshop community. You have joined a friendly, helpful community of people who are happy to roll the sleeves up and get stuck into home improvement projects.
We try to encourage everyone to have a go and will happily provide the advice and support you need. If you need a hand with a project, please don’t hesitate to click on the Start a discussion button. We have plenty of community members keen to share their experience and knowledge.
If you need a tradesperson to assist you, we recommend you try a site like Airtasker or hipages. We sometimes get members on Workshop asking for recommendations for tradespeople in their area, but Workshop is a community for people right across Australia and New Zealand so it is unlikely that there will be a member near you who can recommend someone suitable. It's best to go direct to a site that is designed for that purpose.
Feel free to reach out any time you need help getting the most from the Workshop site or have any feedback about how we can make Workshop more useful for you.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Arcangela. It's terrific to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about stencilling floor tiles.
Stencilling floor tiles is a fantastic way to give your space a fresh, personalised look. However, this is not a service that Bunnings provides.
You might like to reach out to platforms like Hipages or Airtasker, which can help connect you with local tradespeople who can assist with this project.
If you'd like to try this project yourself, we have some popular projects, such as this D.I.Y. stencil tiled flooring from our talented member @ZoeGilpin.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Can you help with locating a tradesman to install a Bunnings laundry in the Goulburn Valley region of Victoria?
Hi @Rensford,
A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.
Unfortunately, we do not have tradies we can recommend for this kind of work.
My suggestion would be to use a service such as HiPages, Airtasker or True Local to find a cabinetmaker or plumber for their assistance with this job.
Let me know if you have any further questions.

Since January 2022, our wooden floor on our double story house started making crackling noises when we step into our 2 bathrooms. The noise is worse as we walked into our bathrooms the first thing in the morning,
Over the time of 3 years, the noises have spread out to other areas outside the bathrooms area as well. We can even hear squeaky noises from downstairs as someone walking on our upper floor.
Please help me to look for which professional trade people that I can get to have a thorough investigation on this matter. I am so concerned t if this is left unchecked, we may ending up with a major structural problem. This problem has caused so much stress on me over the last 3 years and now it has started to affect my health.
Thank you so much!
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Fionahuynh. It's terrific to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about squeaking noises.
Since your upper floor has a wooden subfloor with, I presume, tiles over the top, at least in the bathrooms, the crackling noises could be due to movement in the subfloor, loose tile adhesive, or changes in humidity affecting the timber. Given that the issue has spread over time, it's best to have it checked sooner rather than later.
A builder or carpenter would be the best first point of contact to assess the subfloor for movement. If they suspect structural issues, they may recommend a structural engineer for a more in-depth inspection. A tiler could also help determine if the tiles or their adhesive have loosened over time. Getting a professional to investigate now can help prevent any further deterioration.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Hi. New garden 4 months old. I’m a first time home owner and garden owner and I’m having a few problems with the garden. Instead of having to try to problem solve and fix every bit that is a problem I was wondering if there is a service through bunnings, or anyone where a garden person can come and assess in person a struggling garden, give advice, and possibly even fix things that need fixing for me. I have a 5 month old baby and a 2.5 year old toddler and it is really difficult to get the time and energy to do things even if I could work out what to do! I also have a meddling know-it-all FIL who will definitely have all sorts of ‘expert’ opinions not based on experience or facts who the garden needs defending from ! Help!
🤣🤣🤣
Hi @deborah1,
Bunnings doesn’t offer an in-person garden assessment service, but our team members in-store can provide advice and recommend products to help with any garden issues. You might also find it helpful to continue sharing photos and details here so the community can offer tailored advice.
If you're looking for hands-on help, you could consider a local landscaper or garden maintenance service to assess the garden and make any necessary fixes. Given your situation, hiring someone could save you time and energy while ensuring things are done properly—plus, it might help keep those 'expert' opinions at bay!

Hi Mitchell, thank you very much for your prompt reply.
Would you or anyone in the team can recommend us a trusted builder or carpenter? We definitely want to start the investigation as soon as possible.
Thanks & Regards
Hmm ok. I will maybe contact the people who put it in and see if they can come and do some work on it. Thanks! Deb
Hi @Fionahuynh,
We don’t have direct contact with tradespeople who perform this type of work, but you might find it helpful to use platforms like Airtasker or Hipages to connect with qualified professionals in your area.
