Hello everyone,

just wanting some advice on how to fill in the gap between my new floorboards and the wardrobe. Would I use a clear gap filler then paint over the top or does anyone have any other advice? Please see the photo for context. Thanks again for the help

Re: How to fill in Gap between wardrobe and new wooden floors

Hello @Elliot88

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your wooden flooring.

Can I please confirm that they are laminate clip-on type flooring or are they real timber panels? If they are laminate flooring, I suggest using timber moulding to cover the gap, as I 'm sure you are aware laminate flooring shrinks and expands during the day depending on the temperature. The same could be said for standard timber flooring, but their movement is not as exaggerated as the laminated flooring.

You can use timber moulding as well on the timber floor, but you also have the option of using Selleys No More Gaps in white. It's an easy-to-use gap filler ideal for filling gaps and cracks around skirting boards, cornices, and inside window & door frames.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Eric

Hi Eric,

thanks for the reply. They are hybrid flooring so yes they will expand. I’ll go with the timber moulding then.

thanks for the advice, really appreciate it.

cheers,

Elliot
