Hi,
I want to change the existing lock to the Samsung smart rim lock shp ds705. https://www.bunnings.com.au/samsung-smart-bluetooth-rim-lock_p0035594
But it seems like my existing lock doesn't meet the back set requirement of 70mm. Am I meant to measure the backset from the edge of the door to the center of the key hole?
I want to know if I could install the Samsung rim smart lock to replace the existing lock.
If it wont fit. Any other smart lock you would recommend that would be suitable for the door.
Thanks for everyone's help!
Hello @mingwait
The locking screws for the front assembly of the rim lock is often located on the inside of the locking bolts. I've placed an image below to give you an idea of its possible location. Once the screws have been removed, you should be able to lift the front assembly off the door.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Hi @mingwait
Since you have removed the locking screws from the side of the door, I suggest lifting or pushing the rim lock assembly away from the door. If you have a hammer or piece of timber you can use to gently tap the assembly, it should come off the door. I've placed another sketch below to give you an idea of which direction the rim lock is supposed to come off.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
