Hi,
I am a new to DIY and would like to renovate a room to a prayer room as shown in this picture. Specially the wall cabinet with lighting inside and the decking. Please share any ideas you might have?
Hello @Mythily
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's a pleasure to have you join us, and thank you for sharing your question about building a prayer room.
I suggest having a look at the Matrix 1810 x 905mm Off White Tangle Screen Panel with Frame as a decorative back panel for the wall. I also recommend using LED strips to create the background lighting for the decorative panel. There are a few ways to create the large low table that you see in your picture. You can use timber panels to create the top of the table.
If you are going to use the bottom of the table as storage, I suggest using a Kaboodle 600mm 1 Drawer Base Cabinet side by side. You can choose the colour of the drawer front from the Kaboodle selection. However, if you only want an enclosed box, I suggest using 70 x 35mm Framing MGP10 Untreated Pine L/M to build the box frame of the table. You can use plywood to cover the front, back and sides of the timber frame.
If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

hi @EricL
Thank you so much for all your suggestions and taking time to reply. Very helpful and actually motivating too since I have this idea to build this from a while already but was not sure where and how start. This forum and your advise get me jump start to action on my project.
I do have few questions from your suggestions-
- How do I make the back wall panels look elevated?
- The back panel you suggested is a metal one, m thinking a glass panel would be better? also, can we get a single big panel than combining multiple panels?
- Should we stick the wall panel to a board?
Please advise.
Thanks again.

Hello @Mythily
My apologies for the late reply. The Matrix 1810 x 905mm Off White Tangle Screen Panel with Frame is actually made of PVC and comes with a steel frame. The Matrix panel only comes in that size, but it is easy to join together. I suggest using Carinya Make-A-Bracket to join the panels together and to create "U" shaped brackets to make the panels look elevated or float away from the wall.
I've drawn up an example of what it can look like. It is a lot easier to mount the Matrix panel because it is not very heavy compared to glass. It is also a lot safer in terms of being accidentally hit. Should anyone walk into it or hit it with a sharp object it will not break or shatter like glass.
If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Thanks @EricL for taking time to answer my further questions.
I will visit the store this weekend and see how that looks like. Hopefully I will start my project in next 1-2 weeks. I keep posting any questions or how that is coming along.
Thanks a lot and thanks Bunnings for this forum.
Cheers!
