Since building any house, let alone a mud-brick house, is an in-depth project comprising many different skills and steps, it might be best to start with some questions or specific areas you are uncertain about. Have you started designing any plans for the house? We'd love to see them if you have them. Also, have you started investigating local regulations covering building materials or enlisted the services of a structural engineer that specialises in unique building materials?
I'm keen to hear all about your project and can't wait to see our members' advice. Please let us know your questions as we'd love to assist with them.

hi @Tinka55 , thank you.
If you have built a home with mudbrick I'd love to hear about your experience! We are about to build our moulds and any advice would be awesome! 😊
Hi @kristin73
Recently I saw mub brick moulds for sale at the Avoca Recycle shop they had quite a few..made from metal....when i had mine made I only had two different sizes made from steel one of each ..200 x 400 by 250 for internal walls and 300x 400 x250 for extra and made them so the top was a 5 mm smaller on the top to the bottom so the mud would slide out easier..also I read the book 'how to build a mud brick house' and found it had really good ideas..I built my walls on a concrete slab and used two rows two high of solid red bricks as the foundation..I didnt want to use timber skirtings.. the exterior walls have a bit of a cavity and this made it easy to run the electric wire through for power points which I make 400 from the floor.
.Also my walls were not load bearing I used a metal portal frame that held up the roof and I infilled.. I live in Simson and would be more than happy for you to come have a look..another thing i did was made sure that the metal boxes for the powerpoints and light switches were really anchored down to the brick they were sitting on, I pop riveted a flat off cut of flat steel to the bottom and then used cleats to nail them in place on the brick I had been to see a few mudbrick houses and noted a lot of power points were hanging out of the walls.. mine havent done this in 25 years so it worked for me my Fb page is Tinka Alan and are more tn happy for you to ask questions there also Tinka
