Hi @Samara1,
When deciding whether to opt for adjustable or fixed shelves in your TV unit, it's important to weigh both aesthetics and functionality.
Fixed shelves can create a cleaner, more streamlined appearance, as there won’t be any visible adjustment holes, which can detract from the overall look. This design choice can make your TV unit appear more custom-built and polished, fitting seamlessly with your room’s décor. However, the drawback of fixed shelves is the lack of flexibility. If your storage needs change over time—perhaps with the addition of new devices or decorative items of varying sizes—you won’t be able to easily adjust the shelf heights.
Conversely, adjustable shelves offer greater versatility, allowing you to modify the unit as your needs evolve. While the visible adjustment holes might be less visually appealing, they can be minimised by using caps or strategically positioning items to cover them.
If you choose fixed shelves, carefully plan their heights based on what you intend to store. Consider the height of your TV and stereo components, books, or decorative pieces, and allow a little extra room for future changes. This way, you'll have a functional, stylish TV unit without the need for adjustments.
