How do I get this screen sliding door off the tracks to fit a new flyscreen?

Hi , I am unsure of how to get this certin type of fly screen, off its tracks to fit a new flyscreen.

Also the handles seen to be in the way and need a pop rivet gun can you remove another way ?

The newer model houses have made it difficult to replace things if they are broken .

Help please.

Re: how do I get this screen sliding door off the tracks to fit a new flyscreen

Hi @jclarke,

Thank you for your question and welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is great to have you with us.

The top track of the door usually has room for the door to be lifted and angled so the bottom can slip past the bottom track.

You shouldn't need to remove the handles to replace the fly screen. The process would involve cutting the existing screen out, removing the spline, cutting and fitting the new flyscreen and using a spline roller to set it in place.

You might like to check out How To Replace Flyscreen Mesh for some guidance on the process.

Let me know how you go and if there's anything else I can assist with.

I have tried what you have suggested and it's still not working

Hi @jclarke,

Is it possible to get a few more photos of both the top and bottom tracks that the door sits in? Both from the inside and the outside.

There should definitely be a way of removing the door without having to take it apart. I'd very much like to help you find it.

Let me know how you go.

Jacob
